Meet Doris Jean
This firecracker of a lady is co-founder Rena Vanzo's maternal grandmother. Doris Jean was the life of every party and loved to look and feel her best — hence, the bedazzled license plate frame in her honor!
Her grandchildren can still smell her signature dish (green beans with bacon), see her hooting and hollering from the baseball stands, and hear the scratch of her perfectly manicured nails on the blackjack table.
Doris Jean survived breast cancer — just like her sister, her mother, her mother's mother, and her cousin. But not all the women in her family were that lucky. And not all women are today.
Why is breast cancer still the second leading cause of death for women in this country? The Boob Bus seeks to change that — by making annual mammograms convenient and moving conversations about breast health into the forefront.
